Bird watchers in Lebanon and Israel reach a historic agreement (which politicians are far from achieving): in the fall, Lebanese bird watchers notify Israeli airport authorities as soon as they spot the first flocks of eagles migrating from Europe to Africa for the winter, and in the spring, Israeli bird watchers do the same with Lebanese airport authorities. This has the fourfold benefit of avoiding Israeli or Lebanese plane crashes involving birds, while also preserving the lives of the birds and the pastime of bird watching. A win-win-win-win, but one that nevertheless required years of negotiations.
