First Venetian-Genoese War. The Venetian merchant fleet, departing for Acre, is accompanied by a powerful military escort under the command of Lorenzo Tiepolo, already renowned for the reconquest of Zara in 1243. Tiepolo breaks the chain with which the Genoese are attempting to block access to the port, disembarks, and reconquers the disputed monastery.
