El Alamein, Egypt. After two days of relative calm, the British Eighth Army returns to the attack. The Australians break through the German defenses and break through the front, continuing along the coast. Further south, the Bersaglieri attack with melee weapons and hand grenades. The Italian Folgore, Trieste, and Ariete divisions suffer heavy losses, costing 300 British tanks.
