Milan. Tyrolean snipers targeted the Milanese city center from the spires of the Duomo. They fired on people in the streets and squares, and, during breaks, into apartment windows. The most ruthless sniper was Sergeant Lorenz Hupfauf, praised by Radetzky in a report. In the first three days, he hit 36 people, almost none of them combatants.
