Kiev, Ukraine. After several days of violent clashes, culminating in around a hundred deaths among protesters and dozens of police officers captured and held hostage, President Yanukovych and his government sat down to negotiate and signed an agreement that led to a truce in street fighting. The agreement provides for a return to the 2004 constitution and new elections. At the same time, parliament voted on a justice reform that also included Tymoshenko’s release.
