The partisans of the 28th Garibaldi Brigade “Mario Gordini”, approximately 800 men, commanded by “Bulow” Arrigo Boldrini, later a member of parliament for the PCI and national president of the ANPI (National Association of Italian Partisans), fought alongside the First Canadian Army Corps to liberate Ravenna.
