Sydney, Australia. Man Haron Monis, a heavily armed Muslim preacher of Iranian origin, held 45 people hostage inside a Sydney bar. After nearly 24 hours, Australian gunmen intervened. The shootout ended in about 30 seconds. Louisa Hope, who was being used as a human shield by the terrorist, was shot in the foot. Her mother was hit in the shoulder by the attacker. Katrina Dawson, a mother of three, was killed. Tori Johnson, the cafe manager, was also killed, shot in the head by Monis. Monis himself was the third person killed by the gunmen.
