The Space Shuttle Challenger (mission STS-41C) rendezvouses, approaches, and repairs the SMM (Solar Maximum Mission, or SolarMax) satellite in orbit. This is the first in-orbit repair of a satellite in history. The episode will be featured in the IMAX documentary “The Dream Is Alive,” which became a huge hit a few years later in IMAX theaters across the United States.
