Milan. The Five Days of Milan end. The Austrian army, after suffering a thousand casualties, is forced to evacuate the city on the night between March 22 and 23, 1848. The Italians lost 409 casualties, including 35 women. The professions of approximately 250 are known: 160 workers and artisans, 28 shopkeepers, 25 domestics, and 14 farmers. Radtzetzky lost 600 men, including 5 officers; 176 soldiers were killed, 241 were wounded, and 200 were missing, including many deserters. The massacre of artillerymen was incredible: only 5 survived.
