The Swiss company Nestlé produces its first milk chocolate. It’s yet another attempt (this time extremely successful—previous attempts included milk flour) to store excess Swiss milk production in a long-life form. (In the Po Valley, the solution is Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano.) Milk chocolate will make Nestlé’s fortune.
