Leonhard Euler, the most prolific mathematician in history, publishes Euler’s Formula: in a regular polyhedron F-E+V=2, where F is the number of faces, E is the number of edges, and V is the number of vertices. It will later be generalized to F-E+V=2-2g, where g is the number of holes in the topology.
