First Venetian-Genoese War. The triggering event occurs in Acre: the killing of a Genoese by a Venetian. The Genoese attack and pillage the Venetian quarter, and a battle ensues over a monastery between the two quarters. The Templars side with the Venetians, and the local barons side with the Genoese.
