Westinghouse wins the contract to build and install the first two AC generators at Niagara Falls. Banker Edward Dean Adams (formerly head of the Cataract Construction Company in Niagara) of the International Niagara Commission also awards General Electric the contract to build the 20-mile (33 km) transmission lines from Niagara to Buffalo.
