Zgoda, now southwestern Poland, near Świetochłowice. A German punishment camp is closed. At its peak, 5,048 prisoners were held there. Two-thirds were sent to work in the coal mines each day. Up to 20 people died daily from starvation. In total, 1,855 people died, nearly one in three.
