Southern Somalia: Ethiopian and Kenyan troops, in close coordination, invade Somalia to fight the Shabab, or Islamic extremists linked to Al Qaeda. The UN-backed operation also includes support from the so-called Sufis (Ahlu-Sunnah wal-Jamah), Ugandans, Burundians, but also French, American Predator aircraft, and possibly Italian helicopters.
