Several Israeli army helicopters attempt to seize control of a fleet of peace activist ships attempting to break the blockade of Gaza and deliver food and medical supplies. The operation, carried out in international waters, goes smoothly on all vessels except the Turkish one, where the peace activists respond with clubs and bladed weapons. Soldiers open fire, resulting in at least nine deaths and numerous injuries. This event will lead to Israel’s international isolation.
