Bikini Atoll, Operation Red Wing, “Cherokee” detonation at 1,326 meters, 3.8 million tons, first thermonuclear bomb detonation dropped from an aircraft (a B-52). The target was Namu Island, but the pilot mistook the island and dropped the bomb on an island 7 kilometers away.
