Nikola Tesla arrives in Colorado Springs. He stays at the Alta Vista Hotel. He soon identifies a site to build his experimental station: Knob Hill. He will put up a sign that reads: “KEEP OUT: GREAT DANGER! Abandon hope, all ye who enter here,” to paraphrase Dante Alighieri. Here he will conduct research on lightning, both natural and artificial, on the transmission of power through the ground, on ultra-low frequencies (ELF – Extra Low Frequency waves), and even on communication with alien civilizations (probably Martians, according to Tesla).
