Saturday, 2:36 PM. During the bombing of Modena, a bomb also hits the north wall of Modena Cathedral. A huge hole opens in the cathedral’s walls, letting rays of dusty light filter inside. Covered by thousand-year-old bricks, two bodies are found embracing. After several hours of digging through the rubble, they are discovered to be the mummified bodies of the Sinibaldi brothers, buried within the cathedral’s walls half a millennium earlier.
