Prague. The U.S. Army stationed in Plzen, near Prague, refuses to accept the surrender of the ROA (Russian Liberation Army), Russians who fought alongside the Nazis against the Red Army, and who in the final days of the war switched sides to defend the Prague uprising from the Nazis, and are now fleeing the Red Army. Thus, the ROA soldiers are handed over to the Soviets, who begin a roundup that same night: ten thousand men are killed or taken prisoner, and even those who manage to enter the American zone are handed over to the Soviets, as per the Yalta Agreement.
