Damascus, Syria. Mustafa Badreddine, Hezbollah’s military commander, is killed overnight in an Israeli airstrike near the airport. Badreddine had participated in Hezbollah’s military operations since 1982. Indicted by the UN Lebanese Tribunal for the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, he never appeared before the judges.
