Via Panisperna, Rome. Enrico Fermi and his team achieved the first induced radioactivity by neutron bombardment. They proceeded methodically, one element at a time, starting with platinum, and the first results were obtained with aluminum. The laboratory notebook containing the detailed notes was lost for decades and was only rediscovered in 2002.
