Soccer War between El Salvador and Honduras. The two countries met in early June in the 1970 World Cup qualifiers, in a series of three matches. When El Salvador won the decisive match 3-2 in extra time, the fans clashed in the stands. Diplomatic relations between the two countries broke off, and finally El Salvador invaded Honduras and bombed its capital.
