Baghdad. Timur orders 5,000 soldiers to detach themselves from his army and attack the city to collect tribute. Despite fierce resistance, Baghdad falls and is sacked, the population massacred. Outside the walls, 120 towers are built of decapitated heads. Even women and children are not spared.
