Dhaka, Bangladesh. ISIS terrorists attack the Hotley Artisan Bakery cafe in Dhaka, shouting “Allahu Akbar!” in the diplomatic zone. They kill two customers and take the rest hostage. A security siege begins. During the night, about a hundred militants intervene. The total number of victims is 21. Six of the attackers are killed, and one is captured alive. Most of the victims are Italian and Japanese. Of the eleven Italian guests, ten are killed, and one manages to escape. Thirteen hostages are freed. During the siege, anyone who cannot recite the Quran by heart is tortured with sharp blades. Two police officers are killed and 30 are wounded in the firefight.
