Baghdad’s Green Zone, the area of the city that houses the embassies, the Iraqi government and the American command, officially passes from Americans to Iraqi control, as part of the agreements ratified by the Iraqi parliament that provide for the gradual American withdrawal until complete withdrawal in 2011.
