Nikola Tesla moves from Prague to Budapest after reading that Edison has granted Tivadar Puskas the rights to build a city telephone network in Budapest. Nikola Tesla asks his uncle to intercede for him to be hired in this business, having served as an officer in the Hussar cavalry, like the person in charge of the telephone project in Budapest: Ference, Tivadar Puskas’s brother. But Tesla is not hired. Instead, he works, still in Budapest, at the government telegraph office, where he acquires electrical skills. But the job is boring, so he quits, and then falls into a depression, which he manages to overcome thanks in part to his new friend Anthony Szigeti, who forces him to go out and exercise.
