Cambridge, UK. Tony Foulds, 83, is present as several USAF planes fly past in formation, along with thousands of people. They remember the event 75 years earlier, when Tony, an eight-year-old boy, was there in that meadow, and a B-17 (Flying Fortress) was returning from a bombing raid in Germany, heavily damaged. The B-17 “Mi Amigo” of the 305th Bomb Group USAF, dives into the meadow to attempt an emergency landing, then the pilot spots the boy and at the last minute pulls up to avoid him. The plane crashes into the nearby woods. All 10 crew members lose their lives.
