Stalingrad. Operation Ring is ready, aimed at eliminating Paulus’s Sixth Army. On paper, the odds favor the Russians, but not by much: 3 to 2 in air power, 3 to 1 in air force, and 6 to 5 in infantry. But this doesn’t take into account the malnutrition and disease conditions on the German lines, and the scarce (or no) ammunition.
