NASA’s new Orion system completes its maiden launch, carrying the spacecraft, capable of carrying four astronauts, to an altitude of 5,800 kilometers, before reentering the Pacific Ocean and being recovered. The rocket, manufactured by United Launch Alliance (ULA), is based on a Delta IV Heavy Rocket with three RS-68 boosters. The mission is successfully completed.
