Swedish scientist Paabo publishes in Nature the discovery of a now extinct human genus, which he calls Denisovan, also crossbred with Homo sapiens: the inhabitants of New Guinea have up to 6% of the genes of Denisovan Homo (which flourished mainly in Siberia, but whose genes evidently came to New Guinea for migratory reasons).
