Sandy Hook School, Newtown, Connecticut. Adam Lanza, 20, killed 20 children and 6 adults with a shotgun, as well as his mother, before shooting himself. He had taken the rifle from his mother’s home. Adam Lanza suffered from serious mental illness. This massacre is the first to cost the US gun industry dearly. And even the conspiracy theorists who denied what happened in Newtown paid a price. Remington, the manufacturer of the rifle used by Adam Lanza in the massacre, was ordered to pay $73 million to the parents of some of the victims. Alex Jones, a far-right radio host, was also sentenced at the same time for being a mouthpiece for conspiracy theories and denialists. Adam Lanza uses the Remington Bushmaster rifle as in the video game “Call of Duty,” even leaving magazines taped to the walls of the school, just as they were in the game.
