Revenge against female collaborators in Western European countries manifests itself almost exclusively through haircuts (around 20,000 cases), while in Eastern Europe, widespread rape is the norm. Throughout Europe, there is also talk of “horizontal collaborationism”: between one and two million children of German soldiers were born in occupied territories.
