Margaret Thatcher, the “Iron Lady” as she was dubbed by the Soviets, has died. She was 87. She was the first and, to date, only woman to hold the office of Prime Minister in the United Kingdom, leading the Conservatives to three election victories and governing from 1979 to 1990: the longest term in office for a prime minister since the early 1900s.
