James Watson and Francis Crick published the article “A Structure For Doxyribose Nucleic Acid” in Nature; articles by Wilkins and Franklin were also published separately. Rosalind Franklin, who had made the microscopic observations, died in 1958, while Watson and Crick won the Nobel Prize in 1962. Franklin’s work would not be recognized until years later.
