The American exoplanet-hunting space telescope, TESS, is launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The rocket is recovered. As of April 5, 2021 (the end of the primary mission), TESS had identified 2,601 candidate exoplanets, and the extended mission continues to acquire additional data. These data add to the thousands already discovered by Kepler and other means.
