The Security Hearing for Robert Oppenheimer opens. Gordon Gray, chairman of the AEC, and Henry DeWolf Smyth will be the only one to vote against the proposal to remove Oppenheimer’s access to classified material; the majority (Roger Robb, Ward Evans, and Eugene Zuckert) will vote to remove him.
