Independent sources (the U.S. State Department and German inspectors) confirm that ISIS is using chemical weapons (mustard gas) against Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq. Traces of this gas have been detected in shrapnel from mortar shells fired at the Kurds. Symptoms of mustard gas poisoning have been observed among the Kurds.
