Six Italian paratroopers die in a suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan. It’s a multifaceted attack. First, a car bomb with 150 kg of explosives explodes against the Lince armored vehicles. Then, when the four survivors from the second armored vehicle emerge stunned, several bursts of gunfire are fired from a dirt dune a few dozen meters away for about three minutes. The Italians return fire. Other NATO units quickly arrive on the scene, and the terrorists flee.
