Stalingrad. The Northern Pocket of the Sixth Army, under Strecker’s command, also surrenders. At this point, the fighting officially ends in Stalingrad. In reality, after 1991, thanks to some Soviet witnesses who gave interviews, it was learned that several hundred Germans had taken refuge in the sewers, where they continued to fight until March 10th, when they were all silenced by dynamite.
