A German U-Boat, U-203, chases the American warship USS Texas for 140 miles between Greenland and Iceland, repeatedly attempting to line up and fire torpedoes at it. This is just one of a series of near-misses between the Germans and the Americans during a period when the two countries are formally not at war.
