Fourth Crusade. The conquest of Constantinople greatly increases the wealth and power of the Venetian nobles. The two hundred large fiefs assigned to Venice by the Latin Emperor are assigned to Venetian nobles, while the other smaller fiefs are assigned to commoners, while even larger fiefs are assigned to Venetian nobles who undertake the conquest of the Aegean islands.
