Nestorius is the Patriarch of Constantinople. He advocates the separation of the two natures of Christ: the divine and the human. The Nestorians spread first to Syria and then eastward, reaching China, where a Nestorian stele dating to the 8th century is located in Xian, and as far as Mongolia and Manchuria, where they converted some local princes.
