Documents relating to the first computer, Colossus, built in 1943-44 and used to decrypt Nazi messages, were declassified by the American government, but not the crucial role played by Colossus in decrypting Nazi teletype messages, which was declassified only in 2000. The British government had released the first photographs of the Colossus computer only in 1975.
