The SAGE and GALLEX experiments, which have been harvesting nearly all the gallium produced on the planet for decades, measure about a hundred events in ten years. The deficit compared to predictions is about 50%. It will later be discovered that this is due to the change in flavor of the neutrino as it travels from the Sun to Earth.
