1997

Off the coast of South America, a very loud underwater sound is recorded by microphones placed on the seabed. The sound is called a Bloop and is much louder than even the heaviest whale can produce. This has sparked speculation that even larger creatures live in the deep sea, although another possibility is that the noise was caused by an iceberg. Since 1997, other mysterious sounds have been recorded, but none so powerful.
