Bobby Fischer emerges from relative obscurity to play a rematch against Boris Spassky in Yugoslavia, then under UN embargo. He wins the match, a second time. To do so, he challenges his own US government, which condemns him for violating the embargo. Fischer never sets foot in the United States again.
