In Italy, CICAP (Italian Committee for the Control of Claims of the Paranormal) was founded, inspired by James Randi and following in the footsteps of the American CSICP (Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal). CICAP’s founding members were dozens of scientists and communicators, including Edoardo Amaldi, Piero Angela, Margherita Hack, Danilo Mainardi, James Randi, Tullio Regge, Carlo Rubbia, and Roberto Vacca.
