Professor Harry Kroto and his team discovered, in a candle flame, carbon atoms self-arranged into a 60-atom supermolecule shaped like a soccer ball: these are buckyballs, or fullerenes. Professor Harry Kroto and his team won the Nobel Prize for this in 1996.
