In 2001 there is a peak of 0.1 worldwide, which is 1.0 for the United States alone (0.001%/year) due to the attacks on the Twin Towers. In the Years of Lead (1970s of the 20th century) in Western Europe it reaches 0.2 per 100,000 people per year (0.0002%/year), to then permanently drop below 0.1 (0.0001%/year) after the end of the Cold War (1991).
